Apixaban is used to lower the risk of stroke or a blood clot in people with a heart rhythm disorder called atrial fibrillation. Apixaban reduces the risk of forming a blood clot in the legs and lungs of people who have just had hip or knee replacement surgery. Apixaban treats blood clots in the veins of your legs (DVT - deep vein thrombosis) or lungs (pulmonary embolism), and reduce the risk of them occurring again.
Pentosan polysulfate sodium is used to treat bladder pain and discomfort caused by cystitis (bladder inflammation or irritation). Pentosan polysulfate sodium is for use in adults and children at least 16 years old.
Pradaxa helps to prevent platelets in your blood from sticking together and forming a blood clot. pradaxa is used to prevent blood clots and to reduce the risk of stroke in people with a certain type of heart rhythm disorder. pradaxa is also used to treat or prevent blood clots in the veins of your legs (deep vein thrombosis, or DVT), or the veins in your lungs (pulmonary embolism, or PE).
Rifadin is an antibiotic that fights bacteria and prevents it from spreading in your body. Rifadin is used to treat or prevent tuberculosis (TB). Rifadin may also be used to reduce certain bacteria in your nose and throat that could cause meningitis or other infections. Rifadin prevents you from spreading these bacteria to other people, but this medicine will not treat an active meningitis infection.
