Generic Imipramine - Tofranil, Alphagan, Betapace, Combigan, Compazine, Cosopt, Ddavp, Enablex, Rhinocort, Stalevo

Generic Tofranil is used for treating depression. It is also used in some children to help reduce bedwetting. It works by increasing the activity of certain chemicals in the brain that help elevate mood.

Alphagan reduces the amount of fluid in the eye, which decreases pressure inside the eye. Alphagan ophthalmic (for the eyes) is used to treat open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension (high pressure inside the eye).

Betapace is used to treat a serious (possibly life-threatening) type of fast heartbeat called sustained ventricular tachycardia. It is also used to treat certain fast/irregular heartbeats (atrial fibrillation/flutter) in patients with severe symptoms such as weakness and shortness of breath. Sotalol helps to lessen these symptoms. It slows the heart rate and helps the heart to beat more normally and regularly.

Combigan Ophthalmic Solution is a prescription medicine used for the treatment of pressure in the eyes (ocular hypertension) and glaucoma. It works by decreasing the pressure of fluid in the eye (aqueous humor), which helps in lowering the increased eye pressure.

Generic Compazine is used for controlling severe nausea and vomiting and treating schizophrenia. It is also used for the short-term (4 weeks) treatment of generalized nonpsychotic anxiety.

Generic Cosopt is used to treat certain types of glaucoma and other causes of high pressure inside the eye. Dorzolamide reduces the amount of fluid in the eye, which decreases pressure inside the eye. Timolol is a beta-blocker that also reduces pressure inside the eye.

Generic DDAVP is a man-made form of a hormone that occurs naturally in the pituitary gland. This hormone is important for many functions including blood flow, blood pressure, kidney function, and regulating how the body uses water. Generic DDAVP is used to treat bed-wetting, central cranial diabetes insipidus, and increased thirst and urination caused by head surgery or head trauma.

Generic Enablex reduces muscle spasms of the bladder and urinary tract. Generic Enablex is used to treat symptoms of overactive bladder, such as frequent or urgent urination, and incontinence (urine leakage).

Generic Rhinocort is a nasal spray containing budesonide, a corticosteroid. It prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation. Budesonide is used to treat nasal symptoms such as congestion, sneezing, and runny nose caused by seasonal or year-round allergies.

LEVODOPA is converted to a chemical called dopamine (DOE pa meen) in the brain. Symptoms of Parkinson's disease may be caused by low levels of dopamine in the brain. CARBIDOPA helps prevent the breakdown of levodopa before it can reach the brain and take effect. ENTACAPONE increases levels of levodopa in the body. The combination of carbidopa, entacapone, and levodopa is used to treat Parkinson symptoms such as muscle stiffness, tremors, spasms, and poor muscle control.
